  • We create economic opportunities by improving education programs, install light to study or work. There are 1,000 ways to put people at work again and to makes them having some income;
  • We improve education program and infrastructures as the effects of poverty on children are wide-reaching and can lead to lifelong struggles, especially when young people don’t receive full educations.
  • We bring water for life and access to drinking water and sanitation as this should be a basic human right;
  • We supply electricity as the majority of families living in rural areas do not have access to electricity! Let’s change this and end their reliance on fossil fuels;
  • We give free Health and Medical care as the fundamental right to access to healthcare is not common in Indonesia. This is not an acquired right;
  • We care about adolescent pregnancies as this is a real global problem that occurs in high, middle, and low-income countries especially in rural areas of Indonesia;

These are some areas on which Action for Fair Future works in collaboration with local authorities, socio-medical partners and all the other organisations that make us what we are today: A big family and good friends.

Community Care – Covid-19 Outbreak

Support free food, hygiene kits and information for the population affected!

#Covid19CommunityCare #KawanAgainstCovid19 #KawanSehat #KawanBaikIndonesia #FairFutureFoundation

Organizing information sessions about the virus during which we will teach how to make hand sanitizer, how to protect ourselves and to protect others. Providing fresh food materials, vitamins, soap, and homemade hand sanitizer to communities to prevent the infection.

In response to the evolution of the COVID-19 outbreak, Kawan Baik Indonesia Foundation and Fair Future Foundation are taking basic level action to help local communities who are impacted on their health and on the socio-economic level. Public health should come first, economics can come later. But until now the government put the economical consideration first.

Fair Future, Kawan Baik Indonesia, and the Good Friends will support the community with daily-income and people in need affected by the epidemic of the COVID-19 by giving some fresh materials nutritious foods, sanitary kits and right information about the COVID-19.

Women, kids and underage girls in rural areas!

Help this 3 months baby with an Oro-facial cleft, to get surgery!

#OroFacialCleft #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #Act4fairfuture #FairFutureFoundation

This little boy born in November 2019. He lives in a very small village in East Sumba (NTT), in which water is a rare commodity, electricity does not exist.

Health solutions for this category of people living in the most rural regions and therefore far from everything, are most of the time impossible to reach.

Oro-facial cleft (OFC) remains a prominent health issue in developed and developing countries alike. Mounting evidence suggests a polygenic, multifactorial and a list of epigenetic events.

With a worldwide prevalence of approximately 1.2/1000 live births, OFCs are the commonest craniofacial birth defects in humans…

Provide clean water & improve sanitation… And the economy!

Act to offer solutions to help villages, having access to water!

#WaterForLife #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #Act4FairFuture #FairFutureFoundation

Malnutrition and infant mortality are high! The women are spared walking to the well sometimes far away. Imagine having to walk barefoot for hours in treacherous, dangerous terrain just for a glass of water.

During one of our visits, a woman said“We do not have enough water to cook and we can not wash every day, once a week. I have to walk 12 km to the well and back, or I have to pay Rp.5k for a 5-litre water bottle, which will not last a day “.

Water offers a range of opportunities to diversify livelihoods such as processing fish to make dried meat, livestock production and irrigated agriculture for consumption and sale. There are also benefits to food security and the health of all. Instead of spending Rp.5k per bottle of water for a day, villagers will now spend only Rp.10k or Rp.20k per month on well maintenance. People wash daily rather than once a week…

We create economic opportunities for families !

Act for Sumba Photo Stories. A Trigger for socio-medical actions!

#SumbaPhotoStories #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #Act4fairfuture #FairFutureFoundation

Introduce the children about photography learning and hone their confidence to tell stories through their eyes, get input and evaluation that can motivate changes in daily behaviour. This project is also an opportunity to be able to explore villages, explore local potential, including identifying problems that need immediate treatment.

Nevertheless, it is sometimes a difficult process to define what the real problems are, to decide what should be prioritised, and to find the most effective method to solve the issues. The Foundation initiates a photography project, through which we attempt to do the process in a creative way by engaging local children and understanding their problems through their perspective

Improve health & access to health and medical care!

Act to for free healthcare in disadvantaged areas of Indonesia!

#FreeHealthCare #KawanBaikIndonesia #KawanPintar #KawanSehat #Act4FairFuture

Everywhere in Indonesia, the majority of people have no access to medical care, 90% of people don’t have health insurance. Indonesia’s health system is failing to provide even the most basic care to vast swathes of the population.

Many who can not afford doctors’ fees often receive no treatment at all, while the wealthy fly abroad for a check-up. The system is plagued by under-funding, decentralisation, lack of qualified staff, rising medical costs and outdated medical equipment.

9.5 million children under five are malnourished and don’t have any access to Health Care. More than 3 million (or 12%) of children under five years of age in Indonesia suffer from wasting. Almost two out of every three children under two years of age, (or 57%), in rural areas are anaemic. Only 42% of children aged less than six months are exclusively breastfed, and only 36% of children consume appropriate complementary food…

Give access to renewable energies to those who do not have electricity!

Donate to provide electricity to villages that do not have it!

#ElectricityForAll #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #Act4FairFuture #FairFutureFoundation

The foundation aims to provide access to reliable and 100% renewable energy sources to several hundred families on the island of Sumba, ending their reliance on fossil fuels and supporting balanced economic development and gender activities.

Access to energy is very limited in rural areas of Indonesia, especially in remote islands. Sumba is one of the most remote and disadvantaged islands in the Indonesian archipelago. Without electricity, her children can not do their homework at night, and her families can not run competitive businesses. population. If these sources were fully harvested, they could be used to advance the local economy and reduce poverty on the island…

Give access to better education for a bright future!

Help over 65 children from 8 to 10 years old, to go back to school!

#BangunMbinuNdita #BangunMbinuDita #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #Act4fairfuture

The school we are looking after in Mbinundita (Sumba East) was completely destroyed by a storm on December 18, 2019. The Foundation, therefore, undertook to rebuild it before the end of March 2020.

More than 50 children from this very remote area, have no more school and we all cry, simply because it is a real drama for this whole rural community, which lives without direct access to water and without electricity. We took this school under our wing in November 2019, touched by the poverty and the kindness of this extraordinary population.

Before the storm, this school consisted of two classrooms (1st and 2nd year), perched on the top of a hill. This school also has no water, no electricity. These children don’t have enough to eat and now, no more school!…

Learn to treat minor wounds so that they do not become more serious!

Donate to equip villages & school of Sumba with a first aid kit!

#FirstAidKit #KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #KawanSehat #FairFutureFoundation

As part of our actions in East Sumba, when the basic needs for access to basic health care are not met, we begin simple, effective actions. Learning to treat minor injuries not to become more serious injuries, raises the importance of awareness about first aid, before being taken to the hospital for professional doctors treatment.  When first aid kit can be accessed easily, ensure that the people around it are safe.

The foundation for years has to deal with complicated health situations, sometimes even extreme. The main reason is that access to medical care is impossible for 75% of the 750,000 inhabitants of Sumba. The lack of medical facilities, the difficulty of the Indonesian health system and the poverty of families are the main reasons for this finding…

Take action for the incredible Kawan Baik Indonesia Foundation!

#KawanBaikSumba #KawanBaikIndonesia #KawanPintar #KawanSehat #Act4FairFuture

Kawan Baik was established by a group of close friends, who have common interests in volunteerism and humanity.

Yayasan Kawan Baik Indonesia is an Indonesian medico-social foundation focusing on providing appropriate access for health & education services for disadvantaged people across the archipelago of Indonesia. With their varied backgrounds and vast areas of expertise, the founders of Kawan Baik have agreed to join forces to assist people, who lack access to education and health services, due to severe geographical conditions and quite challenging access to their place of life.

Kawan Baik concentrates its activities in the eastern part of Indonesia, particularly in Sumba Island, one of the outermost and disadvantaged islands in Indonesia that experience inequality in both physical and non-physical development…
