Action for Fair Future

In outlining his theory of religion, 19th century sociologist Emile Durkheim wrote of a phenomena he called Collective Effervescence. It refers to moments in societal life when people come together in some shared ritual or action, where an 'electricity' is created and released. This "impersonal, extra-individual force, transports the individuals into a new, ideal realm, lifts them up outside of themselves, and makes them feel as if they are in contact with an extraordinary energy."
.
Durkheim saw these moments of collective unity as central to religion, but in our modern, secularised lives many have noted we experience this phenomena in new and non-religious contexts - and music is often the essential element.
.
Effervescence was in the air last night @rumahsanur as local musicians, artists, activists and NGOs came together to raise funds for @fairfuturefoundation and @kawanbaikindonesia who are supporting a community-led build of a school in Sumba. Beyond the good intentions of the night's activities, it was a moment for some phenomenal local artists to commiserate and pour out their creative energies in a response to these difficult times. Like many in Bali, these artists are struggling with the dead stop of the entertainment industry.
.
Under the masterful curation of @pohontuacreatorium, what emerged was a ritual of art and resilience and a display of the strength that thrives in creative & inclusive communities. There were a few teary eyes and tender hearts showing last night and it sure felt we were experiencing some "extraordinary energy". Hormat and suksma to all the incredible artists who poured their hearts out on stage: @truedyduality @soulandkith @soulfoodmusic_ @wearemanja @ardonik_makjinia @teaterkalangan.

Seni dalam pelayanan bantuan kemanusiaan

Halo Kawans,

No Problem TV - 26 Agustus 2020 pukul 18.00 WITA

Sampai jumpa nanti.
